More than 20 years of management of STI GmbH – Wolfgang Glassner retires Go back

With beginning of this year, our managing director Wolfgang Glassner goes into his well-deserved retirement and hands over his business areas to his successor Holger Heldmann.

Mr. Glassner began his professional career in 1970 with an apprenticeship as a radio and television technician. In 1978, Mr. Glassner then moved to Heimann Systems GmbH, where he installed and commissioned the newly developed X-ray equipment for baggage screening at various airports around the world.

After studying technology to become a computer scientist, Mr. Glassner returned to Heimann Systems GmbH, nowadays Smiths Detection Germany GmbH, in 1984, for which he then worked mostly abroad for a long time as a project and product manager. Most recently, Mr. Glassner was responsible for the development and market launch of the "OTS" training software.

His efforts to strategically realign the "OTS" division led to the participation of Heimann Systems GmbH in Mr.Ulrich Dünnes' SLI GmbH and the realignment as STI GmbH in 2001.

With the transfer of the entire business area to STI GmbH, Mr. Glassner, together with Mr. Dünnes, managed the company very successfully for more than 20 years and established it as an internationally operating company.

Mr. Heldmann has also been the head of technology in the company for over 20 years. He is thus well prepared to successfully continue the STI GmbH with its currently 220 employees together with his colleague Axel Stefan in the future.

We would like to thank Mr. Glassner for his extremely successful work at STI GmbH, which became his life's work and wish him all the best for the new phase of his life, especially good health so that he can enjoy his retirement to the full.
